Title:Paying for college: The rising cost of higher education
Source:http://www.massinc.org/fileadmin/researchreport...
Date:2006
Organization:
Short Description:Report which examines the fact that, at the same time that a college education has become the ticket to the middle class, college has become less affordable.
Annotation:At the same time that a college education has become the ticket to the middle class, college has become less affordable. Even though incomes in New England are higher than nationally, families are likely spending a higher share of their income (33%) to pay for college. More students and parents are taking out loans to finance a college education. This increased risk and debt bruden falls heaviest on students who start college but do not complete a degree.
