Title:Paying for persistence: Early results of a Louisiana scholarship program for low-income parents attending community college
Short Description:This study suggests a performance-based scholarship can have a positive effect on achievement among low-income parents attending community college.
Annotation:Nearly half of the students who begin at community colleges do not earn a degree or enroll in another college within six years. Early findings from a Louisiana-based MDRC Opening Doors project suggest that a performance-based scholarship can have a positive effect on persistence and academic achievement among low-income parents attending community college.
